The 2008 Biblical Horizons Annual Weeklong Bible Conference was 21-25 July. Speakers this year were Peter Leithart on the work of Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy, Jeffrey Meyers on Colossians, James Jordan on Liturgical Music, and Rich Bledsoe on Harlotry in the Bible. Dr. Peter Witt gave a report on his visit to underground churches in North Korea.
Recordings of lectures will be available soon.
Why, if it dies at the end, does it not “come to life” or “rise” at the beginning?
FYI
We made reservations at the Quality Inn online for $104.99 / night.

#1. My mistake. “Birth of Conference” should be first line.
Mattins at 11:30 a.m.? That more like the time for Sext.
Mattins should be said at 3:00 a.m.
This is Protestant (i.e., Lutheran type) Matins.
[...] 10, 2008 by Steven W I wanted to put in a plug for the Biblical Horizons conference which you can read all about here. It will be held on July 21-25 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Valparaiso, [...]
Can you post some photos from your conference…..it would be nice to put some faces with the BH Blogrollers :-).
I put the photos I took up on Facebook.

It’s sure quiet around here.
When will the conference lectures be available?
They’ll be available when I get done with them. I erased my own first lecture, and I have to re-record it. Maybe in a few weeks…..
Cranmer put the table in the body of the church so that everyone could stand around the table for the Supper. The idea was to remove the distance that had been placed between the table and priest, and the people.
No-one sat in those days because there were no chairs in the churches. That came later.
I read somewhere that Calvin made the people come to him to receive the elements because there some evil-livers who were insisting that they would eat no matter what, and despite their lack of repentance. I am not sure it was meant to be a permanent measure.
